It's time to start thinking about a science fair project! Our school science fair will be held on Saturday, January 11th. See attachment for details! The winning projects will go on to compete at the district level on Saturday, February 8th at Smitha Middle School. You cannot enter projects in the district level fair without winning the school level fair. It is time to select our Science Olympiad team for the 2019-2020 school year! Science Olympiad is a very competitive and fun organization to be a part of. If your student loves to independently learn everything under the sun about science topics, and/or competing in engineering challenges, then please encourage him/her to apply. It is a very competitive application process as only 20 students are selected for the team. Students who were on the team last year MUST reapply and are not guaranteed a spot on the team. The Atlanta Braves Foundation conducted a follow up interview regarding the grant that funded our Ozobots and showed the linked video at the teacher appreciation game in April.

The 2-5 campus was in for quite a surprise at the end of January when the Cobb County Schools Education Foundation and Blooper, the Atlanta Braves mascot, stopped by to award a grant for $2,398 towards the purchase of Ozobots for the STEM room. There was quite a bit of screaming...I mean cheering involved! |
