We had a super successful science fair this year! We are so proud of the number of students who chose to enter a project for judging. The top two projects from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will move on to compete in the district level science fair in February. Class projects from grades 2-4 are in the slideshow below and you can find individual student project pictures under the tab for each grade level. K-1 class projects will be on display in the K-1 learning commons on Thursday, January 24th during STEM night. Hope to see you there! Once again, the students did a great job of completing the newest family challenge of using a paper plate to represent their family or their culture. A new STEM family challenge will be announced shortly after we return from the holiday break!
Next week (Dec. 3-7) is Hour of Code week. During that week the students at the 2-5 campus will be programming a dance party on www.code.org. To help get the 2-5 students' brains in "code mode" we did some unplugged coding activities in all grade levels. First the students were able to try to follow code, and then they got to write code for someone else to follow. Wondering what to get your child for Christmas? How about something STEM focused?!?!
