We are focusing on Virtual Field Day for Specials this Week!
Please follow the links provided for some fun and exciting events that will be used for this years Field Day. Thanks to OPEN Phys Ed’s resources we can still have a fun way to wrap up the year the best way circumstances will allow. Most of the items should be things that you have around your house. You are welcome to do some or all of the events. You are welcome to use the events as a family competition. The National Field Day takes place on May 8 but you are welcome to practice these events between now and then or fit them into your schedule for whenever it works. I hope the kids enjoy and please share pictures or videos with Coach Hardy at [email protected] or feel free to post on the King Springs Elementary Feel the Pride Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/KingSpringsSmyrna/ for others to enjoy. The video directions can be found here: https://openphysed.org/fielddayvideos Please also share the Padlet Code if that is an easier way for uploading pictures and videos. Thanks so much!!! https://padlet.com/davidworrall/cdsr3sre7ankrmvw

Hey Friends! Your specials assignments are now on a BINGO board. You have the next two weeks to work on completing your choices. Have fun!
What do seeds need to grow? Let's experiment this week! Click below for the lesson.
Hello Kindergarten Friends! If you find yourself with extra time, please check out the file below. It has a standard specific activity for you to try. I can't wait to see the gardens you create!
SKL2. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to compare the similarities and differences in groups of organisms. b. Construct an argument supported by evidence for how plants can be grouped according to their features. Take this time to do some planting! Discuss the characteristics of the plant...are the leaves the same, does it produce seed, fruit, flower?
If you aren't able to plant, take a nature walk and notice the wide variety of plants. Another fun idea is to make a garden sensory bin. Fill a bucket with dirt, seeds, and tools and allow kids to explore! Kindergarten, first, and second grade students did a fantastic job with their science fair projects!
After reading Run, Turkey, Run students created a hideout that would keep the turkey safe from the farmer!
It's Not Just a Stick! Students used their creativity to turn a popsicle stick into something amazing!
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! How many letters can you fit on a coconut tree? Students built a tree and then tried to balance letters! We really had to work on our team communication with this challenge!
