In STEM, we focus on the 4C's. They are critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Students played games to practice critical thinking!
During their first visit to STEM, students learned our rules by playing a fun game on the interactive board. Afterwards, we practiced our engineering skills by building school structures. It's going to be a fun year in kindergarten!
Kindergarten students discovered how worms are good for the soil. (Plus they are fun to hold!) In celebration of Valentine's Day, kindergarten students enjoyed learning about the heart. We learned the function of a heart, held a model, practiced heart symmetry on the ipad, constructed hearts out of blocks, and conducted a science experiment with chemical reactions! We LOVE hearts!
Kids LOVE rocks! Kindergarten students enjoyed observing collections of rocks. We discovered a variety of sizes, colors, hardness, textures, luster, etc.
Thank you to all the teachers who conducted experiments with their classes! They looked fantastic! It was so exciting to have students in grades K-2 display individual projects at the science fair! Please be sure to check out the K-1 class projects at STEM night on Thursday, January 24th. It was fun to team with students around the world for the Hour of Code! Kindergarten students helped get our fuzzy friends through the maze by writing code. Check out koadable.com to continue the fun at home!
