We are focusing on Virtual Field Day for Specials this Week!
Please follow the links provided for some fun and exciting events that will be used for this years Field Day. Thanks to OPEN Phys Ed’s resources we can still have a fun way to wrap up the year the best way circumstances will allow. Most of the items should be things that you have around your house. You are welcome to do some or all of the events. You are welcome to use the events as a family competition. The National Field Day takes place on May 8 but you are welcome to practice these events between now and then or fit them into your schedule for whenever it works. I hope the kids enjoy and please share pictures or videos with Coach Hardy at [email protected] or feel free to post on the King Springs Elementary Feel the Pride Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/KingSpringsSmyrna/ for others to enjoy. The video directions can be found here: https://openphysed.org/fielddayvideos Please also share the Padlet Code if that is an easier way for uploading pictures and videos. Thanks so much!!! https://padlet.com/davidworrall/cdsr3sre7ankrmvw

S2E3. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about how weather, plants, animals, and humans cause changes to the environment. Take a walk around the neighborhood. Can you identify any changes to the environment? Are there parts of your yard being washed away by the rain? Anything disturbed by animals? Trees cut down to build something? Take a picture!
Kindergarten, first, and second grade students did a fantastic job with their science fair projects!
In the book, Thanksgiving with the Tappletons, Mrs. Tappleton lost the turkey when it slid into a pond. Students used critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity to engineer a fishing pole to get the turkey out of the pond.
This STEM challenge required us to use lots of communication and collaboration. Each team had to decide on the materials needed to build a canoe to keep our 3 animal friends safe and dry.
